It all started in 1996, when Gordon Campbell Gray created One Aldwych in London, one of the first contemporary boutique hotels in the Capital, which arrived to critical acclaim.

The story continued when Campbell Gray Hotels moved on to create award-winning Carlisle Bay in Antigua, bringing a fresh take on hospitality to the Caribbean, with modern design and renowned British hospitality.

The company’s creative force and acclaimed 5-star luxury

service continued with the creation and opening of Le Gray in Beirut, The Merchant House in Bahrain and The Machrie Hotel and Golf Links, on Islay in Scotland. Campbell Gray Hotels also renovated and reopened the Valletta’s “Grande Dame”, the Phoenicia Hotel in Malta and the Alex on Lake Zurich in Switzerland.

Our legacy includes award-winning design as well as industry-acclaimed luxury service with our 4 largest properties being admitted into Leading Hotels of the World from inception, and our smaller, The Merchant House in Bahrain becoming a Small Luxury Hotel of the World.

Turning the passion into a successful business needed a vision and structural components. And this is how Campbell Gray Hotels came to be a management company, creating and operating selective highly individual hotels and residences around the world.

Our executive team gathers experts with extensive experience in the industry worldwide. In addition to being able to utilise essential resources from our affiliate companies, they share the institutional passion and the needed integral vision to attain success.

When the world was brought to a standstill, we took our time to reinvent ourselves, redefine our purpose, rethink our philosophy and reset our strategies to meet the post-COVID era, keeping in mind the prosperity of our existing hotels and the development of our business to meet the new hospitality era.


Our journey continues, and with it our philosophy to create iconic places to stay, dine, play and relax, developed into Campbell Gray Hotels, a group with four pillars: Hotels and Resorts, Branded Residences, Restaurants and Bars, and Puregray Wellbeing.

Saad Audeh, founder of SIA Holding, acquired Campbell Gray Hotels in 2015 to expand and diversify the family business by investing in the luxury hospitality sector.

Having formed his first business venture in 1990, his strong business background and the variety of companies within the group allowed for fruitful synergies and solid support for its expansion strategy, which currently covers 11 countries, across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Since its acquisition, Campbell Gray Hotels has developed and operated various luxury hotels in Europe and the Middle East, with a current focus on upcoming markets such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Africa, amongst others.

Having evolved Campbell Gray Hotels from a hotel developer and operator to a corporation that offers residential lifestyle developments, hospitality through food & beverage concepts and wellbeing innovations, he has seen the business grow significantly, through unique and innovative offerings that make the business a true 360° solution provider.

Saad is a passionate polo player, cigar aficionado and has an astute taste for the finer things in life, reflecting in all his business including his vision for Campbell Gray Hotels.

Under his tenure, Campbell Gray Hotels continues to expand with a credentialled, professional team of established hoteliers, taking on new business opportunities, developing luxury hotels and branded residential projects in exciting destination.
